Dr. Kioskli is the CEO/co-founder of trustilio BV. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Psychology from King’s College London. Her Ph.D. was fully funded through a nationally competitive fellowship from Diabetes UK. Her M.Sc. is in Health Psychology from City University of London, and her B.Sc. is in Social Anthropology from Panteion University, Greece. Currently, Dr. Kioskli is a certified lead auditor for Information Security Management Systems (ISO 27001:2022).
Dr. Kioskli’s research interests encompass cyberpsychology, psychosocial human factors and behavioral change for trustworthy digital ecosystems, cognitive and psychological assessment and interventions, digital therapeutics, and personalized behavioral medicine. She has authored numerous high-impact, peer-reviewed publications and has presented at various national and international conferences, earning 5 awards in these fields. Additionally, she serves as an editorial review board member for prestigious journals such as the Diabetes Self-Management Journal, Diabetes Therapy Journal, British Journal of Pain, British Journal of Health Psychology, Skin Health and Disease, and the World Academy of Science, Engineering, and Technology.
She has held Research Fellowship positions at the University of Essex, UK; City, University of London, UK; University of Brighton, UK; and University of the Aegean, Greece. She has taught as a guest lecturer at the University of Brighton, served as a graduate teaching assistant at King’s College London, and been a Ph.D. tutor at the Brilliant Club. Dr. Kioskli has worked as a Project Manager and consultant at Gruppo Maggioli, IT, for commercial and R&D projects focusing on secure digital health services and human factors for trustworthy AI-based applications. She has organized interventions for secure behavior change and provided counseling psychology services at the American Community Schools of Athens, Greece. She also worked as a relief support worker at Peabody.
Nineta Polemi is a cybersecurity professor at the University of Piraeus in the Department of Informatics and CTO/Co-Founder of trustilio BV. She served (2017-2020) as a Programme Manager and Policy Officer in the European Commission DG (CONNECT H1 Unit entitled ‘Cybersecurity Technologies and Capabilities’). Her cybersecurity expertise includes maritime security, operational risk/conformity assessment, security management, supplychain security, threat intelligence, and AI trustworthiness. She obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (Coding Theory) from The City University of New York (Graduate Center). She held teaching and research positions at The City University of New York (Queens & Baruch Colleges), State University of New York (Farmingdale), and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB)-Solvay Brussels School.
Professor Polemi has authored over 150 publications in security, organized numerous scientific and policy-related international cybersecurity events and training sessions. She has received research grants from organizations like NATO and IEEE, as well as awards from NSA, MSI Army Research Office IEEE, CYNY, Hellenic Ministry of Maritime, and Hellenic National Defense General. She has participated as a Project and Technical Manager in more than 70 international, EU, and national R&D and commercial cybersecurity projects. Professor Polemi is a member of ETSI in the working groups of Cyber and AI and of the CEN/CLC/JTC 21/WG 1 “Strategic Advisory Group” and ENISA Adhoc Working groups on cybersecurity skills, cybersecure AI, and Risk Assessment. She also serves as an external expert, reviewer, and consultant for EC, ENISA, FORTH, Focal Point, and CodeWeTrust.
Georgios Douvitsas holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at trustilio BV. With a strong background in finance and risk management, Mr. Douvitsas is currently engaged as a Trader in the Treasury Desk at a prominent London-based hedge fund. His previous experience encompasses roles as a Risk Manager, where he specialized in both vanilla and exotic Interest Rates derivatives, at two prominent European Investment Banks.
His professional pursuits and passions gravitate towards the realms of active risk management and innovative hedging techniques. Moreover, his expertise extends to cash management and strategic investment practices, macro-level financial strategies, optimization of initial margins, and precise pricing of interest rates derivatives. Mr. Douvitsas holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management from Bocconi University in Milan, a program that equips him with the advanced analytical skills required to navigate the complex financial landscape. His foundational education stems from a Bachelor’s degree in Financial & Banking Management earned at the University of Piraeus.
Paresh Rathod, PhD, currently serves as the Head of Research and Innovation at trustilio BV. In addition to this pivotal role, he holds multiple significant positions across various domains. He acts as a Thematic Leader for Cyber Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI), as well as a Senior Lecturer in the field of ICT at Laurea-Finland. Dr. Rathod has served as the Co-Chair of the European Cybersecurity Organisation (ECSO) Working Group, focusing on skills and the human factor. Furthermore, he has held the position of Expert Rapporteur at the European Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA), contributing to the AHWG (European Cybersecurity Skills Framework) initiative. His impactful leadership extends to his role as the Vice-President for Research, Development, and International Relations at IITEDA (UK), as well as a member of the Global Advisory Board for CASE at EC-Council.
At the core of Dr Rathod’s endeavors lies his primary focus on secure technologies and the seamless integration of research, development, and innovation projects with real-world work practices. This approach fosters a holistic and practical progression of advancements in the field. Dr. Rathod’s influence spans a diverse spectrum of collaborative engagements, including partnerships with entities from Finland, various EU nations, UN bodies, UNESCO, NATO’s Cyber Defense sector, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), NSA, and Law Enforcement Authorities (LEA). He has assumed roles as a senior professional, advisory board member, chairperson, and specialist within esteemed interest groups such as IEEE, ACM, ISACA, ASIS, ECSO, IITEDA, and several other international organizations. Dr. Rathod actively shares his expertise through seminars, workshops, international conferences, journals, and forums. His substantial contributions in these areas have earned recognition from pertinent authorities, highlighting his influential role in advancing the fields of cybersecurity and ICT.
Lena Despotopoulou holds both a BSc in Public Administration and an MSc in Organizational and Financial Psychology. She currently serves as a Finance & Business Development Expert at trustilio BV. With vast experience in the maritime sector, she currently serves as the CFO in the merchant marine industry. Her areas of expertise encompass business economics, the development of financial models, M&A transactions, ERP implementation ensuring seamless data migration and system production, financial reporting, reengineering of business processes based on dedicated market research, and providing training for the adoption of changes. She also excels in project and financial management. As a prominent member of PwC’s Consulting Business Unit, Mrs. Despotopoulou has been involved in a wide array of commercial projects. Her responsibilities have encompassed internal audits, where she has assumed roles such as project coordinator for risk assessment projects and corporate governance initiatives. She has demonstrated her expertise in crafting internal control procedure manuals, assessing the effectiveness of internal audit departments, and evaluating internal control systems within major enterprises, including Banking Groups and maritime companies.
Her experience extends to conducting audits related to anti-money laundering procedures, engaging in process documentation, identifying gaps, and leading fraud investigations. Mrs. Despotopoulou’s proficiency is further exemplified through her leadership in training and implementing the TeamMate Audit Management System. Her contributions extend to the public sector, involving technical formulation of service level agreements, development of business plans, and enhancement of finance function effectiveness. Throughout her career, Mrs. Despotopoulou has engaged with a diverse array of clients, ranging from manufacturing and trading companies with international offices and plants to shipping companies, major banking groups, and pharmaceutical enterprises. In her current role at trustilio BV, she draws upon her extensive background in finance and business development. By combining her solid academic foundation with practical expertise, she drives growth and enhances efficiency across critical infrastructures.
